Students at Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design and inmates at Brixton Prison will be flushing their toilets using rainwater, thanks to massive new rooftop harvesting systems. Provided by Newark-based Stormsaver Ltd, the installations should provide water for six to eight of every ten flushes, with top ups from the mains where necessary.rnThe six rainwater systems on the new student campus, part of a major brownfield redevelopment project at Kings Cross, represent Stormsaver's largest individual commercial contract, worth £140,000. Water from the roof will be stored in underground tanks, which range in size from 10,000 to 90,000 litres, from which it will be piped to flush the college's WCs and urinals.
