Ceramic capacitors take the largest share of output from Greater China manufacturers. R&D is driven by the need for miniaturized, high capacitance and low ESR in diverse applications. Ninety percent of mainland China's capacitor output is mostly composed of ceramic, film and aluminum or tantalum electrolytic capacitors. InTaiwan and Hong Kong, ceramic chip capacitors also dominate the market, while film and tantalum have a strong presence in the market.
