China's production of HDMI connectors has the support of about 50 manufacturers that are mostly based in the provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Guangdong. Interviewed companies expect 10 to 20 new entrants in 2009, as the line finds a market increasingly populated by high-definition (HD) home entertainment electronics.rnAbout two-thirds of the current supplier base of HDMI connectors in mainland China is from Taiwan and Hong Kong, producing midrange and high-end products, while domestic mainland makers focus on low-end and midrange products.Taiwan companies contribute about 70 percent of the mainland's total production for this line. They are also major providersrnof HDMI connectors to local mainland makers of HDMI cable assemblies. HDMI connectors account for 30 to 70 percent of Taiwan companies' total exports.
