Anew study aimed at addressing concerns raised by climate change skeptics cegarding the validity and quality of data relied on by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has concluded that the Earth is indeed warming. The Berkeley Earth Science Temperature (BEST) project analyzed land-based temperature data points from 39,028 locations, collected by 10 different sources dating back over 200 years, some 1.6 billion individual records. The study found "reliable evidence" that global land temperatures have risen about 1℃ since the 1950s.
