Emil Stavriotis says he is just getting himself established as a money manager despite a lifetime of trading in the futures markets. It has taken Stavriotis a long time to establish his commodity trading advisor, PAS Management Inc., with its reversal trading system, Midas, that is producing strong returns for those willing to accept the risk. It is Stavriotis' second go around with his reversal system. From 1991 to 1995 Stavriotis operated CTA Northstar based on the same reversal criteria he currently uses. While the program experienced success and closed with positive performance, it never really caught fire and Stavriotis never managed to grow much beyond $3 million under management. Stavriotis was frustrated by the inability to capture institutional investors despite more than 20 years of experience researching the ag markets.
