As you can tell, the outlook for crude oil is very hazy, as is the concept of any sort of equilibrium level. Too many surprises have occurred during a short period to know whether the current price is the result of historic increase in production along with the global economic slowdown or a return to more historic levels. What is known is that there are a number of significant variables on the horizon that can push the price of crude significantly in either direction.
