Promoting Energy Efficiency Investments: Case Studies in the Residential Sector

Energy efficiency (EE) improves energy security, fosters economic gains, and helps reduce CO_2 emissions. Policies designed to increase EE have already delivered significant benefits. "Worldwide energy consumptionrnwould be 56% higher today than it would have otherwise been without the various EE policies that have been implemented since 1973. These three advantages, and the general track record of energy efficiency policies, have made EE a policy priority in many countries."
