A computer implemented system and method for optimizing the operating and financial efficiency of any energy consuming device, from a desk lamp to a major industrial chiller, by profiling its current, or recent, energy use in comparison to its own select recent or historical energy use baseline, monetizing the difference in energy use, and then transforming the information into actionable insight by contextualizing it in light of the device's own design operating parameters, hours of operation, and other relevant factors, as well as giving users direct control and scheduling over its operations for optimum operating and financial efficiency.
