GOOD GROWTH NEARLY EVERYWHERE

With all the Fed tightening that's taken place over the past year, many areas of the country are bracing for tough times in 1995. While growth will surely slow, the good news is that all regions of the country will show respectable gains and a few will shine. The Mountain States, though easing back from the heady growth of 1994, will once again lead the nation with a robust 4.6% rise in gross product, vs. some 3% for the country as a whole. Two glaring exceptions to the overall pattern of further expansion will be New York City and Washington, D.C. Here is the outlook for the country's regions.
