At some of britain's state-run universities-and even at Oxford and Cambridge―there is a crazy campaign afoot to discriminate against the children of the rich. Admissions boards are turning down well-qualified students who were educated at fee-paying prep schools or whose postal codes indicate they come from wealthy residential areas. So-called disadvantaged students with lower IQs and poorer exam results get the places instead.
