Peter Wagner migrated to Telluride, Colo, in 1998, a classic ski bum—apart from his impressive ambitions, his mechanical engineering degree and a job as a sought-after designer of custom golf clubs that he could handle once the sun went down. Dedicating himself to his computer at night and the slopes during the day allowed Wagner to simultaneously hone his skiing and his technical prowess, two skills that eventually combined to make Wagner Custom Skis perhaps the most advanced cobbler of snow planks on the planet.
