Jumping in with Both Feet

Greetings from Capitol Hill. After completing a two-week orientation for Congressional Science Fellows, my first job was to find a job, which would be a one-year position on Capitol Hill. In September, I accepted a position as an investigator on the majority staff of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI) of the Governmental Affairs Committee. The subcommittee is chaired by Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME). I will be conducting investigations of food safety, developing hearings, briefing the Senator as well as subcommittee staff members, and drafting legislation.
