AT. ST VINCENT HOSPITAL: Temporary f/s fix proves to be full-time sales booster

Foodservice officials at St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center, a 450-bed facility in Portland, OR, set up a gourmet sandwich deli and brought in pizza and sushi from local restaurants in order to fill in service gaps during remodeling of the main kitchen. The reaction was so positive- 5% increase in sales and a 4% increase in customer count at the main cafeteria -that f/s decided to continue with them all.
