The food and nutrition leadership team at the Mayo Clinic Arizona in Scottsdale wanted to create a stronger bond. The Mayo Clinic is composed of a 244-bed in-patient hospital and an outpatient healthcare clinic. According to Troy Gauthier, purchasing and production manager, the staff at the two locations were working independently. In the fall of 2008, the team worked with Valley Coaching Collaborative, a consulting firm, to develop a bond between the two locations. The training helped create that bond. It also helped the leadership team build camaraderie and implement new programs.
