University of Limerick's Food Science Research Centre

The University of Limerick's initiatives in food science and technology are located within the College of Science in the Department of Life Sciences. They include the Food Science Research Centre, the undergraduate BSc degree programme in Food Technology and provision of technical support to industry. The Food Science Research Centre carries out research in a number of key strategic areas including Safety and Quality of Fresh Foods, Food Ingredients and Fats and Oils. It is supported by over £lm in research contracts from the Department of Agriculture and Food, European Union (EU) Framework Programmes, Teagasc, Irish American Partnership and the Irish Food industry.
