This year the Ernst & Young/Food in Canada Executive Roundtable brought together four industry experts to discuss the kay issues, technologies and trends in the food and beverage business. The knowledgeable team included: George MacPherson, vice-president of industry sales, Maple Leaf Foods Inc., Toronto, who heads up its systems initiatives; Murray Bond, director of industrial engineering, capital and capacity planning at Nestle Canada Inc., Toronto; John Kelly, president, Otter Valley Foods Inc., Tillsonburg, Ont., manufacturers of frozen entree products for both the North American retail and food service markets; and, participating via a conference call hook-up, Jim Pratt, chief financial officer, Sepp's Gourmet Foods Ltd., Burnaby, B.C., a specialty foods manufacturer targeting the delicatessen and bakery sections of the grocery store.
