ICEWINE FESTIVAL HITS NIAGARA

For a period of three weeks this January, locals and visitors from around the world flocked to Niagara, Ont.'s wine-growing region for the annual Icewine Festival. The Icewine Festival gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy and celebrate a uniquely Canadian kind of wine. At this year's festival, which began on Jan. 15, wine enthusiasts, cocktail fans, foodies and music lovers alike gathered for a wide array of icewine-related events. "The Icewine Festival in Niagara is one of Wine Country Ontario's signature celebrations," says Sylvia Augaitis, executive director of Marketing at the Wine Marketing Association of Ontario. "During this magical time, our wine region welcomes thousands of wine-loving visitors to celebrate something that is quintessentially Canadian."
