I.G.C. sees increase in harvested wheat area in 2013-14

The International Grains Council in its most recent Grain Market Report forecast world wheat harvested area in 2013-14 at 223.1 million hectares, up 2% from 218.6 million hectares in 2012-13. It would be the largest world wheat harvested area since 1998, according to I.G.C. data (it should be noted the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated world wheat harvested area above the I.G.C. forecast for the current year in both with last year.
