EUROPEAN CPP FILM MARKET TRENDS TO 2017

Between 2007 and 2012, European CPP (cast polypropylene) film demand grew an average of 1.4％ per year to reach 512,000 tons by 2012, according to a recent study from PCI Films. It is forecast to grow by an average of 1.3％ per year and reach 534,000 tons by 2017. Flexible packaging applications for CPP films now account for 75％ of total European demand amid strong increases in volumes used in food packaging. Germany is Europe's largest producer and consumer of CPP films, accounting for about 35％ of total regional production and 30％ of total regional demand.
