New Air Separation Plant for V-A Steel at Donawitz

Voest Alpine Donawitz GmbH and AGA Ges.m.b.H. have entered into a long-term contract on the delivery of gases to the Voest-Alpine plants at Donawitz. The contract provides for the continuous supply of the plants with an annual volume of 100 million m~3 of oxygen, nitrogen and argon. In addition, 100 million m~3 of dry compressed air are to be supplied every year. To meet its obligations under this contract, AGA will set up a new air separation plant on a site made available by Voest-Alpine Donawitz. Construction of the facility and the necessary storage tanks, to be financed by AGA, will involve a total capital expenditure of approx. ATS 400 million. Start-up of the plant has been scheduled for 1997. Assuming an average degree of plant utilisation at the Donawitz site of Voest-Alpine, the contract represents an estimated total turnover of approx. Die Vereinbarung sieht eine kontinuierliche Versorgung der Betriebe mit jährlich 100 Millionen m~3 Sauerstoff, Stickstoff und Argon vor. Darüber hinaus ist eine Werksversorgung mit trockener Druckluft im Umfang von ebenfalls 100 Mio. m~3 pro Jahr vorgesehen. AGA wird zu diesem Zweck auf einer von der VOEST ALPINE Donawitz zur Verfügung gestellten Pachtfläche eine neue Luftzerlegungsanlage errichten. Das voraussichtliche Investitionsvolumen für den Bau der Anlage mit ausreichend dimensioniertem Tanklager beträgt ca. 400 Millionen Schilling und wird von AGA finanziert. Die Inbetriebnahme der Anlage ist für 1997 geplant. Der Liefervertrag repräsentiert bei mittlerer Auslastung der VOEST ALPINE Betriebe am Standort Donawitz ein geschätztes Gesamtumsatzvolumen von ca. 900 Millionen Schilling.
