Captive Eagles

During World War Two, the British forces captured, by one means or another, a staggering array of Luftwaffe machines. Many were shot down or force-landed due to battle damage over the UK during the conflict's early years, while other, more advanced, machines surrendered at the war's end. The British and US military gained the majority of the airworthy craft at the end of hostilities, and a good number of these found their way into preservation. The bulk that survive in the UK reside today at the RAF Museum London, alongside their former foes.
