Armed Forces Memorial opens

Her majesty oueen Elizabeth II, accompanied by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales, attended the dedication of the new Armed Forces Memorial at Alrewas, Staffordshire, on October 12. The impressive £6m circular monument carries the names of the 16,000 UK servicemen and women who have been killed on duty or as a result of terrorist action since the end of World War Two.
