Further to my letter in the November issue on 101 Squadron and their Avro Lincolns, the crew flying 'SR-A' were: Pilot II George Matejski, Fit Lt Morris, Signaller I McVickers, Gunner II Relyea, Gunner II LeCouffe, Engineer I McGrath and Nav lV Eastwell. I mention these here because I really must comment on those ranks, which were imposed on airmen aircrew in early 1948. These were universally detested by the holders and vanished without trace in mid-1950.
