Volunteers working on DH Tiger Moth EM840 at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire, received a massive boost in October when the project was granted £47,500 from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Major Ray Conningham, Chairman of the Assault Glider Trust [the aircraft's keepers] said: "We are absolutely thrilled to receive this HLF award. Few examples of the Tiger Moth survive in their original condition but now we can restore this rare aircraft and ensure it becomes a much-valued addition to our aviation heritage."
