Emotions ran high at Waddington and Farnborough at the sight of Avro Vulcan B.2 XH558 displaying again after what seems an eternity out of our skies. At both venues the atmosphere was electric. Tears, whoops of joy and hugs, or a combination thereof, were the order of the day. Recent times have been a roller-coaster ride for the project. Just prior to Waddington it looked as though the granting of a Permit to Fly and Display Authorisation would be academic, as there were no funds to fly the V-bomber.
