Twenty-Four years ago, Roger Hargreaves acquired an aircraft - one he had always felt passionate about. This was no modest achievement, this was a 124ft (37.7m) long, 90,0001b (40,800kg), 139-passenger Bristol Britannia airliner. Not a prospect for the garage, or even the garden! This set a trend, because in late 1995 he was presented with the cockpit section of the second prototype. Things stayed on a roll, and in 1997 he was given another Britannia! Unlike the first one, this was fully airworthy and 'all' Roger had to do was specify where it should be flown to.
