Trident cockpit on the move

The cockpit section of former British Airways HS Trident 1C G-ARPP arrived at the Solway Aviation Museum in Carlisle, Cumbria, on August 19. It had made the short journey over the border from Scotland, where it had been with the Dumfries and Galloway Air Museum. Papa-Papa was the first productionrnaircraft to perform a fully automated landing at Heathrow, Middlesex, on May 16,1967. The cockpit was in exchange for EE Canberra spares, which Solway had supplied to Dumfries. Extensive restoration work will be required before G-ARPP is suitable for display.
