Having just read your article on the Lockheed U-2 'Dragon Lady' (February's FlyPast) I was wondering if you have had any comments from RAF pilots. [Not yet! - ed] The U-2 had a few operations out of RAF Watton, Norfolk, in 1960-1961 which were logged as familiarisation flights.rnThe U-2 would arrive in the belly of a transport aircraft, and then be reassembled in a tented area. When ready it was towed out to the runway and took off pretty quickly.
