With Martin B-26G Marauder 44-68219 having left the Air and Space Museum at Le Bourget, France for the D-Day themed Musee du Debarquement (see separate news item) its place in the World War Two hangar will be filled by CASA 2.111D, a Spanish-built version of the German Heinkel He 111. The former Spanish Air Force machine, coded BR-21-129, has been in deep storage for at least 20 years, and is in need of cleaning and some cosmetic work. The museum plans to maintain the machine in its existing Spanish markings rather than giving it a Luftwaffe 'makeover'.
