Newark Air Museum's CockpitFest notched up its 12th event on June 18 and 19, with no less than 18 cockpits, ranging from a Bell P-63 Kingcobra through to a former West German Air Force F-4F Phantom in attendance. Ever since the unique gathering's inception in 2000, FlyPast has been a keen supporter and this year was proud to be involved along with Cliff Allison, Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire, Farlam Frames and Great British Air Spares. Clinching the award voted by the 'Cockpitters' themselves was Mike Davey for his impressive McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR.2 XV490 - also see separate News item. Visitors to the two-day meeting also voted and Darren Green took their honours with his immaculate English Electric Canberra PR.7 WH779.
