Fiat CR.42 takes shape at Duxford

The Fighter Collection, based at Duxford, Cambs, is making good progress on its restoration of Fiat CR.42 Falco T9-10'. Acguired in 1995, work on the biplane has been progressing in both Italy and the UK, and the fighter has now had its wings reinstalled. One of 72 aircraft delivered to the Swedish Air Force, it was damaged in an accident at Tarnatjakko that claimed the life of pilot Bertil Klintman. The machine was eventually recovered by helicopter in 1983.
