Sharing a Place and Time

After looking at the work of a large number of artists, my new client declared he liked my style. We discussed his intended subject matter and he asked if I would be interested; my reply was an enthusiastic 'yes'! Then we talked timing and costs and soon came to an agreement. My patron, Paul Wilson, wanted me to interpret a scene at Goxhill at the northern tip of Lincolnshire. It was just over the Humber Bridge from me; fewer than 10 miles away, as the crow flies. The brief was very specific and to my surprise I discovered that Goxhill had been USAAF Station 345, with P-51 Mustangs, P-47 Thunderbolts and P-38 Lightnings.
