Evervboy's dream

As a small boy I grew up knowing what a Spitfire was and regarded it as something very special. I joined the Royal Navy in 1959 aged 15 but started flying much later, in 1968.I enjoyed my career and was lucky enough to be approved to fly the Royal Navy Historic Flight aeroplanes, including the Swordfish, Firefly and Sea Fury, from 1986 to 1994. I left the navy in 1994 and started flying commercially, but retained my love of display flying with the Kennet Aviation collection. Among the fleet is every boy's dream, the naval version of the Spitfire: the Griffon-engined Seafire XVII.
