It is testament to the dedication of VTST and its many supporters that by the summer, XH558 is likely to be the last all-British four-engined turbojet aircraft flying anywhere in the world. The last of the RAF's Vickers VC10 fleet is currently expected to retire in or around March. The only other candidate is the BAe 146/Avro RJ, but that is powered by US-built Textron Lycoming engines.
