Our cover star, Hawker Hurricane Ⅻ G-CBOE, made its first flight following several years of restoration on July 16 at Thruxton, Hants. Built by the Canadian Car and Foundry Company in 1942, the fighter has been restored by Bruce Ellis and his team at Thruxton-based Phoenix Aero on behalf of owner Phillip Lawton. The Hurricane made its first flight in a silver paint scheme, representing Mk.Ⅹ AG244, an aircraft used by the Rhodesian Air Force. Flying Colours Contracts has since given it the striking temporary livery of HC-465, an aircraft that flew with the Finnish Air Force in World War Two.
