Singapore Spitfires

With regard to the interesting article 'The ones that got away' by Peter Arnold in the September issue, I can shed some light on late Singapore Spitfires. I was living at Seletar during 1955-1957 as my father was stationed there. Silver-coloured SM997 was present during that period and dragged out officially for occasions, such as gala days, and also unofficially moved around the camp. With regard to TP205, formerly of Tengah, this camouflaged example appeared in a rather sorry state on the Seletar scrapheap in 1956-1957. There was also another static Spitfire in Singapore city centre adjacent to the ATC hut, but I do not have its serial number.
