Two-seat Spitfire to fly in the Netherlands

Previously restored and operated by the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar, Supermarine Spitfire T.9 MJ772 arrived in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, on August 25. The dual-control fighter will be operated by the Royal Netherlands Air Force Historic Flight (KLuHV) and will join the Spitfires Flying Vintage Everyday (SFVE) Foundation. The 1943-built aircraft remains on the British civil register as G-AVAV. It was originally built as a single-seater and was delivered to 341 (Alsace) Squadron of the Free French Air Force on January 20,1944. It was converted to a two-seat trainer for the Irish Air Corps after the war.
