Douglas C-47A-5-0K Skytrain 42-92451 (C-FDTD) returned to the air on June 6 from Montreal Saint-Hubert Longueuil Airport in Quebec, Canada, exactly 75 years after it participated in D-Day. Flown by 'Buffalo Joe' McBryan and Ouinn Jones, the aircraft undertook a 30-minute check flight after spending three decades on the ground. The sortie marked the end of a six-month restoration led by owner Mickey McBryan and his team - Mickey is well known to aviation enthusiasts for his starring role in the TV series Ice Pilots.
