BUILD A WARBIRD

If you are looking for a fun fall project, why not build a warbird? The project may sound daunting, but you can now buy a kit that allows you to build a beautiful, intricately illustrated paper replica, created by Huntly Briggs, of several warbird designs. At age 91, Briggs has extensive knowledge of airplanes, gained from his experience as an aircraft engineer, pilot and mechanic. While his paper airplanes are flyable, they are also elaborate pieces of art. The artistic aspect of his designs is no accident. Briggs worked for many years as a graphic designer and he used computer software to create his warbird plans. Aside from being beautiful, the intricate designs include details such as landing gear, wiring, external guns, flaps and more because Briggs wanted to make the replicas as accurate as possible.
