The MACA Top Twenty showed a new face in the number one spot for 2004, Neil Simpson, of Podunk, MA. Podunk has been the butt of many jokes, but Neil is the real deal, having placed well in something like 14 contests. Neil racked up 1551 points, nearly three times the second place Brian Stas. The standings also reflect the hugely active Speed Limit Combat circuit in New England. They ran around 12 meets and included F2D and Half A in the schedule too. They have a pool of around 25 flyers and have no problem getting 10, 12, or more flyers out nearly every other weekend for a meet. Only Roy Glenn, Nick Mears, and George Cleveland pushed their way into the Top Ten from outside the New England area.
