The Frank Zaic Yearbooks were the best thing since sliced bread for at least three generations of modelers. Frank collected three views, "how-to" articles, and dissertations on aerodynamic theory, and put them in orange bound books that appeared every two or three years. The earliest Zaic book I have is dated 1934; the most recent yearbook was dated 1964-65. The books were packed with information, news, plans and dreams.rnOne such dream is in this column shown in the photos of Grant Carson's build of the 1937 Iliwarra Cup Winner, designed by a Mr. W.J. Barnett of New South Wales, Australia. Grant saw the 3-view of the model on p. 92 of the 1938 Zaic Yearbook and built it over some cold winter nights in Texas.rnStreamliner rubber jobs with planked fuselages seemed to be quite the thing that year. The yearbook also included 3-views of such streamliners from Norway, Holland, France, New Zealand, England, and the USA with Jim Cahill's Clodhopper.
