London's military airfield at Northolt should be made available as an effective third runway for Heathrow airport, under a short-term capacity proposal put forward by a UK aerospace interest group. In its proposal, the Air League, whose members include senior figures in industry, the military and politics, says that the UK government has "boxed itself in" by scrapping plans for a third runway at Heathrow.
