French air force fuels up with first KC-130J tanker

The French air force received its first of two Lockheed Martin KC-130J tankers at Orleans-Bricy air base on 19 September, with the second example due for delivery in 2020. Paris has ordered four new-generation Hercules, including the two in-flight refuellers and two sfretched-fuselage C-130J-30 tactical transports, which were received in 2017 and 2018. The French air force also operates a fleet of five legacy C-130H airlift-ers with an average age of almost 37 years, Cirium fleets data shows.
