Bombardier's CRJ variants and Embraer's E-Jet families are the current prominent models competing in the regional sector. The global fleet of CRJs has climbed from just over 500 in mid-2010 to more than 800. But the E-Jet family has increased much more significantly, from just over 640 aircraft to over 1,400 during the same period.
