I am no more than an interested layman in aviation matters, but I am concerned by the number of reports in your magazine regarding one particular issue. That issue is the apparent frequency of incidents - and occasionally accidents -resulting from flightcrews being misled or distracted by the automated control systems on aircraft. Time and again we seem to read about pilots trying to work out what the aircraft is doing, at the expense of actually flying the machine.
