Antonov resolute on Ruslan, despite Russian MRO threat

Antonov insists it will retain the status of developer of the An-124 heavy transport, and will not willingly hand the responsibility to Russian counterparts. The Ukrainian company has declared its stance in response to queries as to whether Russian regulators intend to refuse to use Antonov for maintenance and airworthiness duties on the type, and outsource the tasks domestically instead. Antonov says that any attempt to transfer fundamental functions of the aircraft's designer would be "grossly contrary" to ICAO standards, and that it would be forced to withdraw all responsibility for the continuing airworthiness of the An-124.
