Safran not star-struck in bid for Zodiac

France's Safran has staunchly defended its proposed acquisition of Zodiac Aerospace after a shareholder strongly objected to the tie-up. Investor TCI Fund Management holds some 4% of Safran and wrote to the company on 14 February to oppose the merger, claiming it was "massively overpaying" for Zodiac, and demanding a shareholder vote before it proceeded.
