Washington to fire up future cruise missile activities

Four manufacturers are to be awarded sole-source contracts to develop technology for a new Long Range Standoff (LRSO) cruise missile programme for the US Air Force. The deals will be placed with Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon. "These firm fixed-price contracts will procure trade studies in support of the Long Range Standoff programme in preparation for the technology development phase," a contract solicitation notice says.
