Vanguard National Trailer recently debuted its 53-ft. concept trailer, which includes data ports for downloading information specific to each trailer, a weight-saving composite floor and smooth-sided walls. Utilizing the new Phillips i-Box nose box, suspension component manuals and service information can be stored in a microchip that is downloadable via a USB port, allowing drivers and maintainers instant access to critical trailer information. According to the company, the new trailer's sidewalls are fastened with a superior adhesive instead of rivets. This manufacturing process provides additional sidewall strength while eliminating potential rust and corrosion points.
