It was the results of a routine fitness assessment that prompted Sheffield firefighter Del Galloway to take the first steps towards competitive bodybuilding. Following two quarter final defeats in the Amateur Boxing Association British Championships, Del hung up his boxing gloves in 1999, but the absence of regular training and competition meant that he struggled to maintain his fitness and physique.
